After years of working in corporate video and commercial photography, I’m excited to announce that I’m now offering family portrait sessions through a brand-new side of my business: Portraits by Kristen.
This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time—creating natural, relaxed family photos that capture real connections and genuine moments. Whether it’s golden hour at the park, fun with the kids, or just capturing your family exactly as they are right now, these sessions are all about keeping it simple, stress-free, and full of heart.
I’ve launched a dedicated website with example images, session details, and pricing. If you or someone you know is thinking about booking a session, feel free to get in touch kristen@inshotproductions.com. I’d love to help create something special for your family.
I was recently hired by the design manager at Compass Group
Australia to professionally photograph their newly refurbished
office space—and it was a fantastic project to be part of.
The refurbishment brought a fresh, modern look to the office, with
thoughtful design elements throughout. My role was to capture the
space in a way that showcased both the aesthetics and
functionality—highlighting clean lines, textures, lighting, and the
overall flow of the layout.
It’s always rewarding to photograph interior spaces where design
and detail are clearly a priority. From collaborative work areas to
quiet corners, every part of the office had its own purpose and
personality.
A big thank you to the team at Compass Group and their design
manager for trusting me to document their work. It’s always a
pleasure helping bring great design to life through photography
I recently had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful outdoor
function at The Maali, located inside Perth Zoo.
The event was set up entirely outdoors, surrounded by greenery and
natural light, which created a calm and inviting atmosphere. It was
the perfect setting to showcase the venue’s connection to nature
and its relaxed, open-air feel.
My focus for this shoot was capturing the overall vibe of the
event—the details of the setup, the fresh food, and the lush
surroundings that make The Maali such a unique space for
functions and gatherings.
Big thanks to the team for having me—it was a pleasure to
photograph such a beautiful spot in the heart of the zoo.
I recently had the opportunity to do a promotional photo shoot for My Affordable Dentists in Mandurah. The goal was to capture clean, welcoming images of the clinic, team, and facilities for use in their marketing and online presence.
I aimed to showcase the quality and atmosphere that new patients can expect when they walk through the doors. Thanks again to the team at My Affordable Dentists for having me!
Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Provedore Café
in Port Hedland to capture a series of promotional images. Known for
their colourful, beautifully plated dishes and welcoming vibe,
Provedore Café was a dream to photograph.
But it wasn’t just about what was happening on the table. To
round out the shoot, I also took a few drone shots of the stunning
surrounding Port Hedland landscape. It’s always exciting to mix
food photography with a sense of place, giving a broader visual story
that connects a business to its environment.
Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Tucker Fresh IGA’s vibrant Market Day events. Held once a month at one of their 12 stores, Market Day is more than just your average grocery run—it’s a full community celebration.
Kids enjoy face painting and craft tables while locals sample
delicious bites from Western Australian suppliers, there’s
something for everyone.
My goal for the day was to capture the candid joy and connection these events foster—whether it was a child proudly showing off their craft, a family enjoying tastings, or staff chatting with regulars. Tucker Fresh IGA clearly values its community, and Market Day is a brilliant showcase of that spirit.
I recently had the pleasure of working on a photography project for The Esplanade Hotel in Port Hedland, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable shoots I’ve done in a while. The brief? Capture heritage imagery around South Hedland and Port Hedland—with complete creative freedom.
South Hedland Water Tower
The final images have found their way onto the hotel’s menus, website, and walls within the restaurant. There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing your work printed and hanging in a space where locals and visitors can appreciate it while grabbing a meal or a drink.
Big thanks to the team for trusting me with such a wide creative brief—it’s always refreshing to work with clients who value vision over strict direction.
If you’re ever in Port Hedland, pop into The Esplanade, grab a bite, and check out the images on display. You might even spot your favourite bit of Hedland in one of the frames.
Ever been to a crab festival? Mandurah WA holds one every year across 3 days, called Crab Fest.
Fresh Oysters!Live music in the beer garden
It includes music, food, fireworks and carnival rides. It is just great day out for the whole family. We were hired by the City of Mandurah to produce a 60 second video of the massive event.
Craig filming the crowd’s reaction to Montaigne
It was a full on day for Craig and myself, working for 12 hours on our feet with a quick 15 minute lunch break thrown in the middle between events! Lots of fun though and we were thrilled to be part of it. Especially being able to see the amazing Montaigne perform.
Craig has released a new video on his “how to” youtube channel, Turnah81 and with it an ebook. That’s right, Craig is now a published author! So the video and book is simple instructions on how to make your own automatic sprinkler animal repellent for only $15 in parts.
Commercial versions of this concept can be really expensive- ranging from $80 to $190! Which is partly what inspired Craig to come up with this design.
This simple project can be used:
As a Cat or Dog Repellent
Animal Deterrent for other backyard pest like Squirrels, Bears, Possums, Raccoons & Deer
Use it to stop a pet dog digging in your yard
To stop ducks sitting on your pool
Prevent birds from killing fish in a pond
Keep birds off a window ledge
Prank friends or family
or even as a fun & educational school science project.
