Event coverage

The flashmob in full effect!

Event coverage has never been this inspiring or this fun for Craig and I! We were hired by Megaroc Dance Company to film the first ever Disability flashmob in Australia to celebrate Disability Awareness Week.

Craig and I must have looked hilarious wondering around Garden City trying to look incognito with 2 professional cameras while waiting for the flashmob to start. We didn’t want to give it away!

Feel like being inspired? Then you have to watch the video below! There is no way that you can watch it without smiling. You know what I learned today? That everybody CAN dance!

Definition Flashmob:

For those who are unfamiliar, a flashmob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do a performance for a brief time, then quickly disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression.

About Megaroc:

Megaroc was founded by Megan Diggins in 2002. Not long after she started Wheels In Motion disability dancing as part of her company. Conducted by Megan Diggins, the classes are designed for disabled and able-bodied people combined.

Cockburn Ice Arena Promotional Video

Monday, September 17th, 2012

Here is a small business promotional video we did for Cockburn Ice Arena. I know what your first question is “how did you walk on the ice and film without falling over?” Well MacGuyver (Craig) came up with the ingenious idea of “screw shoes” Surprisingly they worked a treat!

It was so much fun filming The owner Calandra organised for the ice hockey team to perform for us. Holy moly they are fast!

They all enjoyed it when we called the puck a “ball” and the hockey stick a “bat”

They were very happy with the finished product. Check out the video, but be warned, it really makes you want to go ice skating!

Australian and New Zealand College of Anesthetists annual Scientific conference

Day 1 of ANZCA conference

Day 1 of ANZCA conference

The international ANZCA conference required high quality video interviews, photography and audio coverage over the duration of the 6 day Perth event. All media was captured and edited on location and available via their newsletter daily. Don’t you just love technology?!

The photographic and video updates informed their international audience of the days events and upcoming attractions. The photography captured was also used in additional media after the event for publicity and promotion of the college via their website.

Day 3 ANZCA conference

This pic was taken on Day 3 of the ANZCA conference, during this interview I (Kristen) pronounced the conference as ANZAC instead of ANZCA. We had to stop the interview and start again from the top. Whoops! Faux Pas!

With so little free time we had to grab a quick bite of lunch in the lift!

Other than capturing material, we were handling daily post production of video, photos and audio. In the photo, you can see captioning, newsletter and related writing is happening to the right and in the background, speaker media preparation is happening. It was a very intense, stressful 6 days but it was one of the best work experiences of my life.

A big thanks to Kirsten from Compose Photography who took these awesome pics of us working.

Do you share books with your child?

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

This instructional video and booklet that we produced with Noah’s Ark is all about sharing books with your children to both promote the benefits of book sharing with kids of all ages and educate parents on the specific techniques of interactive book sharing.

Produced and refined over a period of 2 years the video makes use of real life book sharing example scenarios with children. As you can see we not only produced this video but also starred in it! With Jasmine and myself actually making the front cover of the booklet.

We were lucky once again to receive some wonderful feedback at the completion of the project.

“I’m over the moon having looked this morning at “Booksharing” – The book and DVD are simply fabulous. It’s thrilling, beautiful, accessible, needed. And it belies an enormous amount of work, thought, pleasure, intelligence, love and experience.”
