Living with a stoma comes with daily challenges—one of the most common being leakage. For many, standard ostomy systems don’t quite do the job, especially when the stoma sits in a tricky spot on the body.
But what if there was a way to make each system fit perfectly, no matter the shape or surface?
Creating the custom designed seal for a patient
In this video, we take a closer look at a new innovation by Customa that’s changing the game for people with difficult stoma topography. Using 3D scanning and printing, this technology creates a seal that’s shaped specifically for the individual—offering better comfort, fewer leaks, and potentially fewer hospital visits.

Parkinson’s disease affects nearly 10 million people globally, often causing shortened steps, “freezing” episodes, and increased risk of falls. But what if a walking stick could help detect and prevent those dangerous moments before they happen?
In this video, we explore an innovative new mobility aid—created by Walk to Beat—that’s both discreet and smart. By analysing your walking pattern and detecting the early signs of freezing, this stick delivers a subtle haptic cue to help keep you moving safely and confidently.

It’s a simple idea with powerful implications—not just for the user, but for clinicians too. With app-based tracking and data insights, it’s aiming to change how Parkinson’s is managed in everyday life.

We were thrilled to film one of the standout stories from the 2021 WA Innovator of the Year Awards, capturing the winner of the Growth Category an inspiring innovator behind a clever creation known as the Roofus.
The Roofus replacing multiple tools in the tool belt
Designed for the building and construction industry, the Roofus is a mechanical measuring and marking tool that streamlines material preparation on-site. The Roofus combines the functions of more than six globally recognised layout tools into one smart, compact device.
By reducing the number of tools needed on the job, the Roofus significantly boosts efficiency, productivity, and safety — three essential pillars in today’s demanding construction environments.

It was a real pleasure to meet and film such a driven and practical innovator, and to help bring their story to life through video.

In parts of Western Australia, vast slabs of rock make farming nearly impossible. The same problem affects the civil industry, where removing hard laterite or limestone for roads or airstrips can be costly and time-consuming.
Enter the Reefinator — a powerful, tractor-towed implement that acts like a giant cheese grater for rock. It transforms shallow, rocky ground into usable soil or base material, making previously unfarmable land productive and slashing construction costs.
Whether it’s for cropping, pastures, or road building, this machine is changing the way we work with the land.

The building industry is under pressure to work faster, safer, and more efficiently — and one Australian innovation is answering the call.
Hadrian X is a robotic bricklaying system developed by Fast Brick Robotics that’s changing the way we build. It takes a digital model of a house, cuts and places bricks automatically, and lays them with precision using a 30-metre boom — even compensating for wind and vibration.
It’s not just fast — it’s up to 20 times more accurate than manual methods and uses modern adhesives instead of mortar for stronger, cleaner builds.
We filmed an interview with its innovator and take a look at how it all works — and the potential it has to transform construction in Australia and beyond.

As part of the 2016 WA Innovator of the Year Awards, we had the opportunity to film a video showcasing the Segnut — a clever, time-saving alternative to traditional hex nuts.
Meeting the innovators behind this idea was genuinely inspiring. The Segnut solves a widespread problem in heavy industry: seized nuts that normally require cutting with oxy torches. Instead, this nut features a built-in release mechanism that allows it to break apart and fall away using standard tools — no heat, no damage, no delays.
The result? Up to 95% faster removal times and a safer, more efficient process.
