Market Day Magic: A Community Celebration in Photos

Tuesday, May 6th, 2025

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Tucker Fresh IGA’s vibrant Market Day events. Held once a month at one of their 12 stores, Market Day is more than just your average grocery run—it’s a full community celebration.

Kids enjoy face painting and craft tables while locals sample delicious bites from Western Australian suppliers, there’s something for everyone.

My goal for the day was to capture the candid joy and connection these events foster—whether it was a child proudly showing off their craft, a family enjoying tastings, or staff chatting with regulars. Tucker Fresh IGA clearly values its community, and Market Day is a brilliant showcase of that spirit.

Capturing Heritage in Hedland – A Creative Shoot for The Esplanade Hotel

Port Hedland Water Tower

I recently had the pleasure of working on a photography project for The Esplanade Hotel in Port Hedland, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable shoots I’ve done in a while. The brief? Capture heritage imagery around South Hedland and Port Hedland—with complete creative freedom.

South Hedland Water Tower

The final images have found their way onto the hotel’s menus, website, and walls within the restaurant. There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing your work printed and hanging in a space where locals and visitors can appreciate it while grabbing a meal or a drink.

Big thanks to the team for trusting me with such a wide creative brief—it’s always refreshing to work with clients who value vision over strict direction.

If you’re ever in Port Hedland, pop into The Esplanade, grab a bite, and check out the images on display. You might even spot your favourite bit of Hedland in one of the frames.

An Inspiring Strong Woman

Thursday, June 6th, 2019

I love being inspired by strong women. Take a look at the amazing Tash Sergi from Australian Ninja Warrior!

I was lucky enough to be hired by Compass Group Australia to take some stretching photography of her for some posters they are producing.

I couldn’t stop staring at her arms! They are magnificent!

Tash is a health and fitness coach, has 2 children, is a past entrant in Ninja Warrior Australia and is incredibly strong, you go girl!

This is someone that all of our daughters should look up to. Someone who is strong, successful and capable.

Do you share books with your child?

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

This instructional video and booklet that we produced with Noah’s Ark is all about sharing books with your children to both promote the benefits of book sharing with kids of all ages and educate parents on the specific techniques of interactive book sharing.

Produced and refined over a period of 2 years the video makes use of real life book sharing example scenarios with children. As you can see we not only produced this video but also starred in it! With Jasmine and myself actually making the front cover of the booklet.

We were lucky once again to receive some wonderful feedback at the completion of the project.

“I’m over the moon having looked this morning at “Booksharing” – The book and DVD are simply fabulous. It’s thrilling, beautiful, accessible, needed. And it belies an enormous amount of work, thought, pleasure, intelligence, love and experience.”
