Smarter Veterinary Care, One Microchip at a Time

Monday, December 26th, 2022

When pets arrive at a new vet clinic, emergency hospital, or animal shelter, they rarely bring their full medical history with them. This missing information can delay treatment and complicate care—especially in time-critical situations.

Vedi with their new Australian-developed technology is changing that.

In our latest video, we explore a world-first system that seamlessly links a pet’s medical history to their existing microchip. From vaccinations to lab results, it’s all automatically recorded, tracked, and accessible—when and where it’s needed most.

But how does it work? And what does it mean for vets, shelters, and pet owners?

Watch the video below to find out.

A Smarter Way to Walk with Parkinson’s

Friday, November 25th, 2022

Parkinson’s disease affects nearly 10 million people globally, often causing shortened steps, “freezing” episodes, and increased risk of falls. But what if a walking stick could help detect and prevent those dangerous moments before they happen?

In this video, we explore an innovative new mobility aid—created by Walk to Beat—that’s both discreet and smart. By analysing your walking pattern and detecting the early signs of freezing, this stick delivers a subtle haptic cue to help keep you moving safely and confidently.

It’s a simple idea with powerful implications—not just for the user, but for clinicians too. With app-based tracking and data insights, it’s aiming to change how Parkinson’s is managed in everyday life.

Watch the full video below to see how it works—and why it could be a game-changer for people living with Parkinson’s.

Meet the ‘Roofus’ – 2021 WA Innovator of the Year

Thursday, November 18th, 2021

We were thrilled to film one of the standout stories from the 2021 WA Innovator of the Year Awards, capturing the winner of the Growth Category an inspiring innovator behind a clever creation known as the Roofus.

The Roofus replacing multiple tools in the tool belt

Designed for the building and construction industry, the Roofus is a mechanical measuring and marking tool that streamlines material preparation on-site. The Roofus combines the functions of more than six globally recognised layout tools into one smart, compact device.

By reducing the number of tools needed on the job, the Roofus significantly boosts efficiency, productivity, and safety — three essential pillars in today’s demanding construction environments.

It was a real pleasure to meet and film such a driven and practical innovator, and to help bring their story to life through video.

Inspiring the Next Generation of STEM Thinkers – With LEGO!

Saturday, September 18th, 2021

We had the privilege of filming one of the most uplifting stories from the 2021 Premier’s Science Awards — the winner of the Science Engagement Initiative of the Year: FIRST LEGO League.

This incredible initiative brings students together to tackle real-world STEM challenges through two engaging projects — coding and building a LEGO robot to complete tasks on a field, and developing a research project to solve a real-world problem.

The season culminates in a series of high-energy competitions held at Curtin University and regional hubs across WA. Teachers consistently report powerful outcomes — from improved resilience and teamwork to an impressive boost in the students’ drive to become independent learners.

It was a joy to meet the passionate people behind this program and to help tell their story on screen.

If you’re looking for video production in Perth to highlight your initiative, innovation, or event, In Shot Productions is here to help — get in touch to bring your story to life.

An Inspiring Strong Woman

Thursday, June 6th, 2019

I love being inspired by strong women. Take a look at the amazing Tash Sergi from Australian Ninja Warrior!

I was lucky enough to be hired by Compass Group Australia to take some stretching photography of her for some posters they are producing.

I couldn’t stop staring at her arms! They are magnificent!

Tash is a health and fitness coach, has 2 children, is a past entrant in Ninja Warrior Australia and is incredibly strong, you go girl!

This is someone that all of our daughters should look up to. Someone who is strong, successful and capable.

Mandurah’s Crab Festival – Promotional Video Production

Thursday, May 30th, 2019

Ever been to a crab festival? Mandurah WA holds one every year across 3 days, called Crab Fest.

Fresh Oysters!
Live music in the beer garden

It includes music, food, fireworks and carnival rides. It is just great day out for the whole family.
We were hired by the City of Mandurah to produce a 60 second video of the massive event.

Craig filming the crowd’s reaction to Montaigne

It was a full on day for Craig and myself, working for 12 hours on our feet with a quick 15 minute lunch break thrown in the middle between events! Lots of fun though and we were thrilled to be part of it. Especially being able to see the amazing Montaigne perform.

How To Make A Cat Repellent Automatic Sprinkler

Thursday, May 23rd, 2019

Craig has released a new video on his “how to” youtube channel, Turnah81 and with it an ebook. That’s right, Craig is now a published author!
So the video and book is simple instructions on how to make your own automatic sprinkler animal repellent for only $15 in parts.

Commercial versions of this concept can be really expensive- ranging from $80 to $190! Which is partly what inspired Craig to come up with this design.

This simple project can be used:

  • As a Cat or Dog Repellent
  • Animal Deterrent for other backyard pest like Squirrels, Bears, Possums, Raccoons & Deer
  • Use it to stop a pet dog digging in your yard
  • To stop ducks sitting on your pool
  • Prevent birds from killing fish in a pond
  • Keep birds off a window ledge
  • Prank friends or family
  • or even as a fun & educational school science project.

Float Tank Relaxation – Business Promotional Photography

Thursday, May 16th, 2019

Recently I took some stills for a business called Peace in A Pod, they specialise in float tanks, massage, sauna and spas (plus much more.)

I seriously had no idea how much you actually float in those pods! It looks so amazing, like you literally can not make yourself sink to the bottom. I think I wouldn’t last 10 minutes before falling asleep. In Craig’s opinion he doesn’t think I would last 1 full minute… I do enjoy napping!

They were a great team to work with, lots of fun and lots of laughs! Would highly recommend a visit for yourself or someone you love 🙂

Foam cutter – How to make it the easy way!

Wednesday, March 20th, 2019

So I have been busy with my youtube channel over the summer and have made a few “how to” videos that nobody asked for.

Making your own Foam Cutter

How to build a foam cutting table the simple way… to cut foam, styrofoam or plastic. There are many of videos showing different ways to build your own hot wire foam cutter or “styro-slicer” (ie King of Random) which are all great builds- but time consuming. If you are after a quick easy DIY method to make a homemade foam cutter – then this is for you. I needed a styrofoam cutter for a project that was cheap, full size, could cut angles & had variable heat – plus could be made quickly – from what I have seen this is the most full featured, yet easy way to make a professional size foam cutter.

An End of An Era! The Closing of Princess Margaret Hospital

Wednesday, March 6th, 2019

The Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation put on a thank you day for all staff and patients of Princess Margaret Hospital before it closed in June last year.
This is a highlight video we put together showcasing such an emotional day. There was a photo booth, face painting, choir, sausage sizzle and much more!
The hospital first opened in 1909 and has been a part of most West Australian’s lives at some point.

GoPro Fusion 360 Camera

We recently purchased the GoPro Fusion 360 camera and you may recognise some shots from this when we give it to Stitches the bear. Pretty cool stuff! It allows you to capture every angle all at once, giving the editor the freedom to choose what they want to work with. Would definitely recommend this camera, such a different way to view the world!

Being a Nurse At PMH

In the lead up to the closing of the hospital, we were asked to produce a video on what it was like being a nurse at PMH. They wanted to show this video at upcoming events as a thank you to the nursing staff past and present at the hospital for all of the energy and effort they have put into their roles over the years.

PMH’s 107th Birthday Celebration

Here is also a video we did a couple of years back for PMH’s birthday , which we were lucky enough to became a finalist in for the Australian Video Producer’s Association Awards for best highlights of an event.
