Training videos can traditionally be tedious and boring with a monotone voice over that will put you to sleep within minutes. A great way to liven things up is to replace this outdated video style with a role play. It is the same message but delivered with professional actors in a scripted scene. It is an easier format for viewers to retain information and they can see what they are being taught in relevant examples.
In these two video one scenario is played out in two different ways so the viewer can see the difference between doing something the correct way and the incorrect way and how a customer reacts because of this.
The Tourism Council of WA hired us to create these videos in order to train customer service personnel in the tourism industry. “The benefits to the trainers using the videos has been professionalism and the ability to use realistic examples, especially for the visual learners. Feedback from the trainees has been positive” – Julia from the Tourism Council of WA
Recently I did a self defense course at a Mixed Martial Arts gym and the course was amazing, I picked up so much fantastic information and skills that I otherwise would have never known. So on my way out I took a brochure with me to encourage others to go. Once I had a look through it and saw the poorly taken photographs which were obviously taken with a camera phone, I thought to myself “If I had’ve seen this brochure before hand, I wouldn’t have gone to this gym.” I felt the photographs did not accurately portray the quality of the course, the professionalism of the instructors and the wealth of knowledge that I got from the experience.
There’s no way around it, first impressions count, so if a potential client comes to your website, or picks up brochure and there are cheap, poorly taken photographs representing your business, straight away an opinion is going to be made. Whether you like it or not the professionalism of the photographs of your business, reflects the professionalism of the business itself.
Here is a recent photo shoot we did for ESS who provides all the support services for mining camps in the Pilbara. They use the photographs for a variety of promotional materials, website, brochures, newsletters, decals at the camps, framed posters in the head offices. The upfront cost is so minimal compared to the amount of customers the photographs will bring in. Iphones are no match for the experience and know-how of a trained professional.

Quickboats wanted a short 30 second promotional video for their Facebook page to promote the main features of their product.
Making the most of facebook’s auto play feature we suggested an upbeat music montage that would capture people in the first few seconds of play.
The Results!…..
Short videos are perfect for social media as they are very shareable.
This video also makes the most of Facebook video’s autoplay feature as you can still enjoy the clip and watch it all the way through- even with no sound.
With the visual graphics you have absorbed all of the information that the company wanted to convey. They can also use it for trade shows other online video advertising.
By containing compelling high quality visuals, it captures the audience in the first 5 seconds of the video. In order to make a compelling social media video,
-Consider what people will see as they are scrolling in their news feed, when the video auto plays you don’t have long to grab their attention.
-It either has to be a strong, compelling image or a sequence that flows in a logical order and builds curiousity in watching further. Never start with you logo or branding, this is something you should end on after you have the audience’s complete attention.

Rockingham Shopping Centre created an under 18 Instagram Film competition with the theme ‘This Is Rocky.’ We were hired to help promote the competition, so we came up with the idea to create a series of 6 videos that can help the entrants produce a higher quality product. Have a watch you might pick up on a tip or two!
Behind the scenes filming Craig’s piece to camera
We even helped Rockingham Shopping Centre pick the winners and were there to capture the awards night. What a bunch of talented kids they were. Very proud to be part of this production.
Midland Gate together with Rockingham Shopping Centre created a short video series promoting their Spring Fashion range available in the centres. They did this as a series of “how to” videos on fashion with Blogger Adelle Cousins from Where the Styled Things Are and “how to” make up videos with Professional Make Up Artist Simone Cohen from SC Artistry. By utilising video they were able to increase their social media presence with the appropriate target market and showcase the fashion that is available in an informative an engaging way that keeps the viewers watching until the end.

The mechanic’s car is never fixed and our showreel is rarely updated! However I am so happy when we schedule in the time to update it as we have worked on some really fun projects with some really great people. I love our job, I love the people we meet, the stories that we hear, no two jobs are the same. We make some great friends along the way and we love hearing the wonderful feedback about how our video has increased their web traffic and converted more sales. Thank you to all of our past clients and we look forward to all of our new clients for 2015! We hope to hear from you soon 🙂
The Innovator of the Year program, organised by the Western Australian government, is to promote and commercialise innovative business solutions and products.
We have been lucky enough to do be part of the amazing program for a few years in a row now and every year we find it more inspiring than the last. We are helping to promote innovation in Western Australia!
The videos are featured as a back story for each of the finalists, these are played just prior to the awards winner announcement and also, as promotional tool online for the finalist after the event is over.
A highlight video of an event is a great way to have social media interaction. It just needs to be fun, upbeat and short in duration. Let your followers know what you are up to. By utilising video it gives the audience an idea of what the event was like and encourages them to attend the next one. A great way to advertise your next event.

This is the sequel to my viral short film How to Stop Cats Pissing on Your Car – The Best Cat Video Ever! It follows on my struggle and solution to my problem with neigbourhood cats urinating on my car and property.
Craig welding together the “device”
Seriously I don’t hate cats, This video was the result of a legitimate ongoing problem we have had with cats in our area. Washing cat urine off our doors and cars was becoming an increasingly time consuming and frustrating part of our weekly routine. Not to mention the many nights lost sleep with cat fights, we have even had property damage.
Basically I thought “bugger it”, why not turn our problem into entertainment? Everyone likes a funny cat video on youtube 😉
A scene from the film
So what’s it about?
In the sequel I take the basic concept of the first video and just make it…well…extreme. I don’t want to give too much away, you will just need to watch the video. So far it has been received very well with over 230 000 views. Plus it has just become a finalist for the short film competition Rottofest. The winner will be announced on Sunday 8th September.
